The 2018 Lexus NX is not yet physically here at North Park Lexus Dominion, however, we have received the new NX brochure (in case anyone wants one) and we were able to learn even more about the updated Lexus model from Lexus.com.
So what more have we learned? Well, the 2018 Lexus NX will have more of just about everything. More style. More precision-engineered performance and more driver-inspired technology. Learn more here…
Lexus-first innovations and class-leading features stretch the limits of versatility and give drivers even more. Available for the first time, the 2018 NX 300, NX 300 F SPORT and NX 300h, will offer several “Lexus-first” innovations including a kick-sensor-activated power rear door and Lexus Wi-Fi, but it is the introduction of a few features already found on other Lexus models that have us really excited.
Lexus-First: Kick-Sensor-Activated Power Rear Door
Just wave your foot beneath the concealed sensor, and the available Touch-Free Power Rear Door raises or lowers.
Lexus Enform Wi-Fi
For the first time in a Lexus, you can tap into available onboard Wi-Fi and take your entertainment on the road. The new Wi-Fi can connect up to five devices including iPads, tablets, laptops, and smartphones. Lexus Enform Wi-Fi includes a 4GB or 1-year trial period, whichever comes first and is reported as “standard” on NX 300 F SPORT, NX 300h and NX 300.
Lexus Enform Dynamic Navigation
Not only will the NX Navigation System come with a new, larger 10.3-inch high-resolution split-screen multi-information display providing immediate, simultaneous access to audio, climate and other various systems including a full-screen map, but the 2018 NX will also debut the new Lexus Enform Dynamic Navigation. Lexus Enform Dynamic Navigation is aimed at giving drivers even more from the available Navigation System by providing greater accuracy through continuous cloud-based updates. In addition to up-to-date maps, it can dynamically offer alternate routes based on conditions ahead, and can automatically sort Points of Interest results based on relevance.
Panoramic View Monitor
Four high-resolution cameras mounted on the front, sides, and rear of the NX give drivers a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding environment. Moving View and See-Through View options create a composite image of the vehicle’s surroundings as on-screen guides help assist with parking and tight maneuvering. Plus, the system looks amazing on the new 10.3-inch screen!
Triple-Beam LED Headlamps
The 2018 NX will come with available full-LED headlamps that feature a three-projector design. The statement-making LED headlamps creates an electric L shape and are highlighted by integrated LED side turn signals.
Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0
Even more access to your favorite mobile applications, the new Lexus Enform App Suite 2.0 can search local listings, stream music, listen to live radio nationwide, check fuel prices, and keep tabs on your favorite sports – all from the center console display. The new and improved App Suite also offers advanced voice recognition that makes accessing and controlling App Suite 2.0 easier than ever.
Self-Gripping Cupholders
It’s the little things that we love the most. The new Lexus NX will offer self-gripping cupholders, similar to those found on the RX, and will allow you to unscrew your beverage cap with a single hand thanks to a unique grip design. LOVE IT!
Scratch-Resistant Clearcoat Paint
Lexus engineers have reworked the paint’s “behavior” at the molecular level to achieve a high-density surface coating that is extremely elastic and capable of deforming on impact, then spring back to its original gloss. These unique elastic qualities, plus the coatings ability to resist the effects of sunlight and acid rain help to protect and preserve the new NX’s glass-like finish and there’s no special treatment or maintenance required!
Next-Generation Remote Touchpad
The next-generation Remote Touchpad mimics smartphone operations with a larger touch surface area, pulsation feedback, intuitive pinch, swipe and flick gestures and handwritten input. New functionality also allows drivers to quickly access new sub-menus when on screens with multiple options. More convenience and more access.
Intuitive Parking Assist (Next-Gen)
The 2018 NX will also feature a new available next-generation Intuitive Parking Assist system that can bring the vehicle to a complete stop, under certain circumstances. Intuitive Parking Assist utilizes sensors in the front and rear bumpers to inform the driver with both audible and visual indicators. The notifications indicate a detected object’s location and proximity which is especially helpful when attempting to parallel park or squeezing into a tight garage.
Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (Next-Gen)
Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert also sees an update for the 2018 model. In addition to the same great functionality as before, if the system senses a potential collision, it too will automatically brake and bring the vehicle to a complete stop, under certain circumstances.
