#1. Lexus AC System Receives Innovation Award

Lexus received an Industry Innovation Award for the air conditioning system introduced in the 2013 Lexus GS that not only improved vehicle efficiency but also moisturized driver and passenger’s hair and skin.

S-Flow Air Conditioning System with Nano Technology

The air conditioning system that was first introduced for the 2013 Lexus GS featured new technology that required less power to deliver the same superior comfort expected in a luxury vehicle.

The Lexus S-Flow System uses sensors to detect if the front passenger seat is occupied and if it isn’t, the system shuts the vents so to efficiently deliver air only to the driver and not the unoccupied seat.  The system does the same for the back seats when the S-Flow System is on.  What makes this system even more impressive is it’s use of nano technology.  Nano technology is built into the Lexus air conditioning system to purify the air, help eliminate odor and moisturize the driver or passenger’s skin and hair!  The high moisture content of nano ions from the car’s AC system provides Lexus drivers with a healthy moisturizing effect for both skin and hair.

So, the next time you’re thinking you need to make a trip to the salon or spa, go ahead and give your hair and skin a little extra TLC by simply switching on the S-Flow system and taking a drive in your Lexus.

#2. Attention to Detail

During the development of the original LS flagship sedan, Lexus dedicated one team member to ensure that the feel of each button and switch was absolutely perfect.  The team member carried around three different sets of fake nails so he could make sure every button in the LS was suitable for any customer –with just about any nail style.

#3. Performance Champion

The Lexus IS F has one of the fastest shift-times of any street-legal performance car.  At .01 second, it is within .05 seconds of the shift-time of a million-dollar Formula 1 race car.

#4.  Welcome Home

Did you know that although Lexus was born in Japan, the luxury brand only launched it its home market in 2005?  Lexus opened 142 dealerships across Japan on the same day in August 2005.  It is reported that during the first ten days of the launch, dealers welcomed more than 250,000 guests.

Lexus now operates in more than 90 countries and spans six continents with dealerships across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Hong Kong, South Africa, New Zealand, Taiwan, Russia and South Korea.

#5.  Quiet Time

We first read about this on the Lexus UK blog titled Lexus & Sound.  It was such an interesting article that we included it for this list:

“Sound has an emotive quality, and from the very first model Lexus has been either exploiting it to enhance our feeling of oneness with the car or minimizing its intrusion into the cabin so that we can relax in an aura of calm.”

The quiet interior of a Lexus is definitely one of the most appreciated features by customers and Lexus knows it.  Lexus applies their meticulous attention to detail craft to analyzing sound and ensuring any mounted component in a Lexus does not interfere with the sound frequencies produced by human speech.
